M. Carl Covey, MD
Pain Treatment Centers of Amercia’s Medical Director – Dr. Covey grew up in Gentry, Arkansas and graduated from the U of A in Fayetteville with a degree in Industrial Engineering – working several years for Honeywell Information Systems as a Systems Analyst in Oklahoma City. He then returned to Arkansas and completed training in Anesthesiology and Pain Management at UAMS in 1982. He practiced in Fayetteville for 15 years, founding the Pain Clinics at Washington Regional Medical Center and the Northwest Rehabilitation Hospital before moving his practice to Little Rock in 1997. Dr. Covey is a member of the Pulaski County and Arkansas Medical Societies, the American Medical Association, and the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians. He is a past president of the Pulaski County Medical Society and the Arkansas Healthcare Access Foundation. He is a former member of the Arkansas Medical Society Board of Trustees and currently serves as secretary and as a member of the Board of Directors of the Arkansas Foundation for Medical Care as well as serving on the Pain Management Review Committee of the Arkansas State Medical Board. He is board certified in Anesthesiology, Pain Medicine, Pain Management, and Interventional Spinal Medicine.
